Krimgold Park

Amenities

Ponds

The four ponds run northwest to southeast along the eastern side of the paved trail. They support an abundance of wildlife including fish, ducks, heron, turtles, and beavers. The annual Kids Fishing Rodeo is held at the ponds each May.

Trails

The Park hosts two trails: a 1-mile paved trail and a 1.9-mile Perimeter Path. The paved trail is wheelchair accessible; the Perimeter Path is unpaved and includes a few wild and steep sections. For a map and navigation instructions, please click the link below to view and download the Perimeter Path Trifold.

Tot Lots

Bohde's Place tot lot is located near the entrance to the Park on the left. A smaller tot lot is located at the end of the paved driveway on the left.

Pavilions

Two pavilions are located at the end of the paved driveway. The larger pavilion, which seats 72, may be reserved here. The smaller mini-pavilion seats 12 and requires no reservation.

Native Plant Garden

The Native Plant Garden (NPG) is located in the southeast end of the Park, just west of Pond 3. It contains over a dozen clearly labeled native plant species. The NPG is maintained by the Friends of Krimgold Park in cooperation with the Carroll County Master Gardeners, who demonstrate proper plant selection and planting techniques. Volunteers weed the NPG on the second Saturday of the month, February through November.

Disc Golf Course

The Krimgold Park Disc Golf Course was installed in October 2023 as an Eagle Scout project. It is located in the northeast section of the Park behind Ponds 1 & 2. The 9-hole course is available for anyone to play – just bring your disc(s)!

Soccer/Lacrosse Fields

Youths may sign up for soccer and lacrosse teams on the Freedom Area Recreation Council (FARC) website.

A restroom containing waterless toilets is centrally located among the five soccer/lacrosse fields. It is available for use from mid-March through November.
